Won’t You Be My Neighbor

Hello again and thanks for coming back!

As most of you don’t know, I have a dog.  Her name is Finn and she’s about a year and half.  She is a rescue so we don’t know exactly what she is a mix of.  We think German shepherd and mini-Pinscher.  (That’s her in the picture below.)

Anyway, I was walking her yesterday morning around 6:40 when all of a sudden, her collar opened and fell off.  (!!!)  My heart was pounding in my chest and all I could think about was my cell phone.  On my nightstand.  While contemplating how to run home and grab it, I realized we were across the street from the house of a neighbor that Finn adores (let’s call him J).  J’s car was in the driveway indicating he was home from the gym.  I ran across the street calling for Finn to follow, which she did, and knocked on J’s door.  J’s side yard is completely fenced in so I opened the gate and ran in, still calling for Finn to follow.  Thank goodness she listened and ran in after me.  I immediately closed the gate and cornered her to put her collar back on.  J came out as we came out of his yard and Finn jumped on him and gave him kisses.

I did buy her a new collar that is secure; but, more importantly, thank goodness for good neighbors!
