Ahhhh…the middle of February in the suburbs of New York City. It is brutally cold (tonight’s low is 4 with a wind-chill of -10 to -20 (that’s Fahrenheit)) and miserable. Days are getting longer but still short enough that your commute home from work is in the dark. Streets are lined with dirty black snow that shows the pollution in the air. There are no holiday lights spreading cheer as Christmas was two months ago. The love and romance of Valentine’s Day ended with the alarm clock for work Monday morning.
So why is this a “Wonderful TIme of the Year”?
Let me begin by apologizing. It has been way too long since I’ve given you a quality post and I feel really bad about being so MIA.
Since we last met, my laptop ran out of memory. A little window kept popping up on my screen saying my memory was running low. I tried opening a jpeg for work and Windows Media Viewer told me there wasn’t enough space to open the picture.
This was my at home office setup.
The IT guys convinced me to get a Surface, from where I am writing to you now.
Last week I wrote about the contents in my Frosty VoxBox. Let’s talk about my thoughts since I’ve tried some of the items.
Hain Celestial Candy Cane Lane Green Tea: I wasn’t a fan. I think I’m going to stick to plain green tea.
Ecotools Styler + Smoother Hair Brush: This brush hurt my head. It worked on the ends, once the tangles were gone.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner: The liner applied very smoothly and evenly (better than the black eye liner I usually use). Here’s a picture from the beginning of the night:
By the end of the night, the black was smudged under my eyes, questioning my belief as to how “waterproof” the liner is. (All eye shadows are Mac brand and the mascara is by Buxom.)
Rimmel London Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: The makeup remover did not leave an oily residue, which I like. However, for a makeup remover that removes waterproof makeup, it did not do a good job removing the eye liner. It performed very similarly to the Sephora brand eye makeup remover I normally use.
Note: I received all of these products complimentary to test or review.
Hi there! I’m on bloglovin’ so come follow along: Follow my blog with Bloglovin
A few months ago I heard about Influenster, the premise of which is they send you a box of products complimentary to test and/or review. I figured why not? At the least, it’ll give me something to post about. At the most, it’ll help me grow the blog. So here goes…
The first box I received is Frosty VoxBox.
This week’s post will be delayed due to pure laziness. Honestly. So I give you Finn running in the snow until this week’s post goes up. Probably tomorrow, especially if work gives us another snow day.
